Jaime Aldama
President

Jaime Aldama is the President of Momentus Securities. During his 20-year career, Jaime has held a number of leadership roles in several large investment banks and brings considerable experience to Momentus Securities. Prior to Momentus, Jaime worked at Barclays in the role of North American Head of Credit Structuring. During his time at Barclays, Jaime oversaw a team that led some of the largest, most critical, and award-winning structured transactions in the industry. Prior to Barclays, he was responsible for the origination, structuring and distribution of structured asset backed derivative transactions and bespoke correlation products at Lehman Brothers and prior to that held a similar role at Citigroup. Jaime started his career at Societe Generale in their Madrid and London offices. He holds a Masters of Economic Science majoring in Econometrics from the University College Dublin (UCD).

Mikiyon Alexander
Head of Coverage

Mikiyon is the Head of Coverage, responsible for providing leadership and delivering longterm sustainable value for Momentus Securities’ clients. Along with this, he pursues business development opportunities and originate new client engagements for Momentus Securities. He also works with investment banking teams on a variety of transactions that include corporate, structured and municipal securities. He manages day-to-day aspects of client relationships and transactions. Mikiyon serves as primary client contact on engagements.

Mikiyon has spent 18 years of his career in the capital markets focusing on various aspects of affordable housing, community development & social lending.

Prior to joining Momentus Capital, Mikiyon was a Director in Barclays Capital Public Finance Investment Banking Division. He served as the Head of the Community Development and Social Lending group at Fitch Ratings.

Prior to his time at Fitch, Mikiyon was the Analytical Manager/Group Head of the Housing Enterprises and Structured Securities group at S&P Global Ratings. During his time at the rating agencies he developed the criteria and methodology that created a path for CDFIs to achieve credit ratings.

Mikiyon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Kentucky State University and a M.S. in Public and Urban Policy from the New School Milano Graduate School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy. In 2011 he was featured in The Network Journal as one of the 40 Under-Forty Achievers. In 2013 he was inducted into the Council of Urban Professionals & Executive Leadership Program.

Lastly, in 2019, Mikiyon was recognized as a Rising star by the Bond Buyer.

Tian Wu
Head of Debt Capital Markets

Tian Wu is the Head of Debt Capital Markets at Momentus Securities. She focuses on channeling more institutional capital into affordable housing, small businesses, charter schools and other social investment sectors. She is passionate about helping clients find creative funding solutions that fit their unique profiles.

Tian was previously a Director in Debt Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. where she structured and executed some of the most complex debt financing and liability management transactions for some of the largest corporate issuers. She is part of the 37 Angels investor network and the president of National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) New York Chapter.

Tian graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance track) and a double major in Statistics.

Ryan Carter
Director of Investment Banking

Ryan Carter is a Director of Investment Banking at Momentus Securities. He is responsible for cultivating long term sustainable value for Momentus Securities’ clients that drive capital into our core client base. As a senior banker, he is responsible for sustaining the firm’s business development efforts and maintaining consistent connections with existing and new clients. Ryan is involved in the firm’s public and private debt offerings. He is passionate about collaborating with deal teams that create innovative financings that meet the needs of our client base; from initial due diligence analysis, underwriting, execution and closing.

Prior to joining Momentus, Ryan was Vice President of Business Development at Prudential Financial. In this capacity, his responsibilities included scoping and developing new initiatives, managing relationships with strategic partners, and defining financial and performance KPIs.

Ryan Carter was previously a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on Investment Banking in the Community Development space. His primary focus was driving capital into low-income communities and scaling public capital market access and solutions to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and other community-centric entities like Non-Profit Affordable Housing Developers and Charter Schools. Prior to this role, Ryan held other positions at Morgan Stanley including mortgage sales and trading within the Securitized Products Group.

Ryan holds a B.A. in Economics and Commerce from Hampden-Sydney College, where he was Valedictorian. A Truman Scholar, Ryan is passionate about people, focusing his energy on work aimed at providing localized impact, and continually volunteering as a tutor, mentor, and advisor. Ryan sits on the boards of Prescribe It Forward and Brooklyn Lab Charter School. Raised outside of Richmond, Virginia, Ryan now lives in Brooklyn, with his wife Becca.

Emily Verhagen
Associate

Emily Verhagen is an Associate at Momentus Securities, specializing in the structuring and securitization of mission-driven products. With a strong background in project finance, private equity and principal investments within the infrastructure and energy sectors, Emily’s unique and varied background brings a fresh and innovative perspective to her role and the team.

Before joining Momentus, Emily honed her skills at Macquarie Capital in London, where she played a pivotal role in project finance, private equity and principal investments for various infrastructure and energy projects.

Emily’s academic achievements include graduating with first-class honors degree from the University of Sussex, where she earned a BSc in Economics.

Emily Verhagen is an Associate at Momentus Securities, specializing in the structuring and securitization of mission-driven products.
